Team Energy Fitness a dream come true
By NICOLE KOCHENSPARGER, Port Clinton Area Chamber
The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Port Clinton held a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house to celebrate the grand opening of Team Energy Fitness, 222 Madison St., Port Clinton, on July 10.
Amber Schierberg, owner and instructor at Team Energy Fitness, moved to Port Clinton eight years ago, originally from Iowa. The very moment she moved to Port Clinton she says she knew she wanted to stay, it felt like home to her.
“I love this town. The atmosphere and the people are some of the best I’ve ever met,” she said.
Four years ago Amber was undergoing chemo treatment at Cleveland Clinic and had a vision that she wanted to run a group fitness center where anyone could go and always feel comfortable. She decided to put those visions and dreams in to action.
“No matter the age, size or level of fitness, I wanted a place where literally anyone could walk through the door and feel at home,” said Schierberg. “Team Energy is exactly that.”
She has three very active boys – Taylor, Brody and Oakley – and is passionate about helping others and giving back. Team Energy does regular benefit rides for the community benefiting groups such as Light House Sober Living, Ottawa Co Humane Society, the local food pantry and PC Schools lunch program.
Schierberg is dedicated to making Port Clinton a better place to live, work and play. She is active in various organizations and is always giving back to the community she loves to call home.
Team Energy runs on six-week sessions which started up July 13 and are designed with everyone’s schedule in mind. For information, visit Team Energy Fitness on Facebook and Instagram.
