State approves funding for Terra State

COLUMBUS – The State Controlling Board has approved the release of funding for work at Terra State Community College.
“Terra State Community College is an important part of our local education and workforce development efforts in the 89th District, as well as an important part of our economy,” said State Rep. D. J. Swearingen (R-Huron). “I appreciate the State Controlling Board’s support for these projects.”
The State Controlling Board approved two requests from Terra State Community College.
One was to release $65,249 for renovations at the Student Activities Center on the main campus in Fremont. This project is to finish the upgrades, including realigning the current basketball backstop, portable telescopic bleachers, procuring portable gym floor covering, and securing necessary scoreboard and components for intercollegiate volleyball and basketball programs.
The other item approved was the release of $73,979 for a Welcome Center project at Roy Klay Hall, according to the State Controlling Board. This project will provide renovation of two rooms to include upgraded LED efficient lighting, room renovations, flooring and ceiling replacement. Also included will be the hallway update.
