Spicer Promoted to VP of Operations at Firelands
Jim Spicer has been promoted to vice president, operations at Firelands Regional Medical Center. In his new position, Spicer has overall responsibility and accountability for the strategic direction and operation of the Health System’s supply chain, purchasing department, store room, print shop, mail room, inpatient pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy, cancer center pharmacy, Firelands Center for Coordinated Care, Firelands Physician Group, laboratory, blood bank and pathology services.
Spicer received a doctor of pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University, holds a masters degree in business administration with a concentration in healthcare administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is a member of the Humane Society of Erie County Board, Immaculate Conception School Board and Parish Endowment Board, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and maintains involvement on numerous state and national organizations related to pharmacy, supply chain and physician practice operations.
Spicer has been an employee at Firelands Regional Medical Center for 13 years and has served as assistant vice president of operations, area director of pharmacy services and supply chain, director of pharmacy services and clinical pharmacy coordinator. He resides in Catawba Island with his wife, Laura and their two children.
