Submitted by FIRELANDS REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

SANDUSKY – Sandie Beal, director of corporate health, urgent and QuickCare clinics at Firelands Regional Medical Center, was awarded the William J. Duffy Memorial Award for safety services to the community. Presented by the Sandusky Area Safety Council, the award is not given annually, only when there is an individual deserving of it.

Beal has spent her more than 35-year safety career in our community. Her involvement with safety started by servicing just a few businesses, and she has grown that service to include more than 900 clients.

“She has always had both company and employees’ best interests in mind and works hard to ensure that necessary resources are provided to both,” said Sarah Henkel, director of safety and security at Firelands Regional Medical Center, who sits on the Sandusky Area Safety Council board of directors and presented Beal with the award. “Throughout a career spanning 37 years, she has helped thousands of employees both prevent and recover from injuries in the work place,” said Henkel.

In addition to her role as director of corporate health and urgent and QuickCare clinics at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandie is also a certified occupational health nurse- specialist, breath alcohol testing instructor, certified drug screen collector, certified audiometric technician and holds a NIOSH pulmonary certification.
