Terra State

OTM - Terra president and board

FREMONT – The Terra State Board of Trustees and President Dr. Ronald Schumacher have agreed on three-year contract. The agreement is in effect until 2021. Schumacher – now the seventh president of the college – has been serving as the interim president after the resignation of Dr. Jerome Webster. Schumacher joined Terra State in January 2018 as senior vice president and executive director of the Terra College Foundation. Schumacher at the helm, the College has had many impressive accomplishments:

  • The college has a budget surplus
  • The Landings at Terra Village opened when the college hosted its first move-in day
  • The college received a USDA grant for the creation of the Leadership Center
  • Faculty contract negotiations were amicably delayed until a new President was named

“There are a lot of opportunities at Terra State,” said Schumacher. “If the College simply keeps what is best for our organization, faculty, staff and students at the heart of every decision, we will not make a bad decision. If we stay true to that, we will have everything turned around much faster than expected.”

Immediately prior to Terra State, Schumacher served as the director of facilities and support operations for Mercy Health in Tiffin. His previous experience includes holding the positions of vice president for development and public affairs and vice president of enrollment at Tiffin University and vice president of enrollment at the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Schumacher earned his doctorate of education from Bowling Green State University and holds degrees from Tiffin University and Allegheny College.
