Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky County CEO and President Jill Simpson, along with Chamber Ambassadors and Fremont Mayor Danny Sanchez, celebrated the grand opening of the new Easterseals Northern Ohio adult day center located at 1907 Croghan St.
The brand-new facility can accommodate up to 40 seniors at a time and features a large kitchen, television area, quiet ladies’ and mens’ activities rooms. There is also a quiet room for those needing a break.
Numerous daily events have already been planned and the rooms are filled with games and other activities to keep visiting seniors active while socializing with friends. Along with activities at the day center, Easterseals plans on having senior field trips throughout the city.
The day center will be open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nursing services can be provided. Breakfast, lunch and a snack are provided, and transportation is available in Sandusky County.
The new site is also home to a speech therapist who will be there a few times a week to help local students throughout the summer. Easterseals medical equipment lending program and car seat program will be run out of the new building as well.
Easterseals Northern Ohio is currently taking new clients for the Fremont facility and had their first clients on Tuesday, July 30. Free trial days are available.
