Submitted by LAKE ERIE ISLANDS CONSERVANCY
MIDDLE BASS ISLAND – The Middle Bass Dock Company – celebrating 95 years of service to Middle Bass Island – presents the Middle Bass Music Festival at Middle Bass Island State Park from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 14. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Lonz Winery is one of Ohio’s most historic destinations. It is our goal to share our love for Middle Bass Island and the restoration of Lonz Winery Patio and Pavilion with our friends, families and guests through the Middle Bass Music Fest. Ride the Miller Ferry from Catawba Island or the Sonny S from downtown Put-in-Bay and join us for the day. You can spend the night on Middle Bass Island at St. Hazards Resort or tie your own boat up at the Middle Bass Island State Park marina.
The Lonz Winery Patio will be filled with the sound of local musicians, The Island Band, Rock and Roll Stew, Mr. Willy and the Honey Bee, North Coast Goats, The Boilermakers and 100 Mile Haul. Come hungry and thirsty, Jimmy G’s BBQ, Heineman’s Winery, Catawba Island Brewing and JF Walleye’s are concession partners.
While on the island, take a moment to tour the winery museum with its five historic Civil War era wine cellars.
The museum showcases the history of Lonz Winery with exhibits of century-old wine making equipment. Walk the state park trails and enjoy a fun and relaxing family adventure.
Proceeds from the Middle Bass Music Festival will be donated to Lake Erie Islands Conservancy encouraging conservation and protection of natural and agricultural lands in the Lake Erie Islands since the year 2000. Their mission is to protect and conserve natural areas of the islands from commercial and private development. The Lake Erie Islands are a unique environment providing habitat for migrating birds and homes for a host of indigenous flora and fauna.
