Larry Fletcher receives lifetime achievement award

Submitted by OHIO HOUSE OF REPRENSENTATIVES

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Steve Arndt (R-Port Clinton) recently presented a House commendation to Larry Fletcher, the recipient of the Paul Sherlock Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ohio Travel Association. Fletcher is the president of Lake Erie Shores & Islands, a marketing and travel organization dedicated to Erie and Ottawa counties.

The Paul Sherlock Award is presented every year at the Ohio Conference on Travel to a person whose work has made him or her a true ambassador for the travel and tourism industry in Ohio. Sherlock helped form the Ohio Travel Association and the first state tourism office.

“I am honored to present this award on behalf of the Ohio House in recognition of all the work that my friend Larry Fletcher has done for the tourism industry here in Ohio,” said Arndt. “Larry has gone above and beyond in all areas to promote both our Lake Erie region and the state of Ohio as a great place to live, work and play.”

Fletcher has served as president of the organization since 2005 and also serves as an advisor to the board of the Lake Erie Foundation.
