The United Way of Sandusky County Board of Trustees have chosen Jill Simpson to lead the organization as executive director.

“We are so excited to have Jill with us. She is very connected to the businesses and social service agencies in the community and has extensive fundraising and program management experience. We believe she will do a great job of successfully leading United Way in its efforts to ensure the needs of children and families are met in Sandusky County,” said Kristin Zilles, United Way board chair.

Simpson previously worked for United Way as the program specialist and is familiar with the programs and services offered by the organization. Simpson left in 2016 to serve as the president and CEO of the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce. She has been actively involved in the community throughout her career and has served on many community collaborations and boards.

“United Way is a great asset to our community, and I am honored to have been chosen to continue its success,” said Simpson. “I look forward to working with both our generous donors and partner agencies providing essential programs and services to families.”

Simpson started her new position on May 16 and replaces Abby Aldrich, who served in the role since 2010. Aldrich resigned to become the executive vice president of operations and special projects for the Greater Toledo Community Foundation.
