Jill Seitz awarded the dialysis healthcare worker of the year

SANDUSKY —  Jill Seitz, MSW at Firelands Regional Medical Center, has been selected as the dialysis healthcare worker of the year by The Ohio Renal Association.

The dialysis healthcare worker of the year award is presented annually to one Ohio hospital caregiver who goes above and beyond their required responsibilities. In addition, the Ohio Renal Association has the following selection criteria that must be met:

▪ 2+ years of experience in the dialysis healthcare field

▪ Displays commitment to personal and professional development

▪ Serves as a role model for others and promotes a positive team environment

▪ Committed to providing quality patient care

▪ Nominee does not need to be a clinician or technician for consideration

Seitz’s nomination exemplifies this dedication. Seitz has been described as always displaying patience in tough and trying situations, as well as demonstrating strong moral and work ethic. She continually looks out for her patient’s best interests by staying current on the community resources available throughout the many counties that Firelands Regional Medical Center serves. Seitz always goes above and beyond her means to assist those around her, coordinating family interventions and behavioral health services.

I believe this quote from William Hazlett sums up Jill; ‘A gentle word, a kind look and a good-natured smile work wonders and accomplish miracles.’ I am thankful every day she is on my team,” said Julia Colavincenzo, RN, Director of Dialysis Services at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Seitz has worked in dialysis since 2002, serving as the social worker for both of Firelands Regional Medical Center’s hemodialysis clinics.

Outside of work, Jill enjoys exercising, scrapbooking, spending time with her family and going on Disney vacations.
