TIFFIN – Seneca County Job & Family Services and Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership launched a new multi-county industrial Wage & Benefits survey on May 3. The final report will be made available to participants in July and to the general public in the fall.
For years, Seneca County employers have requested the data, and the Seneca County JFS/OhioMeansJobs – Seneca County was able to secure the funding through the Greater Ohio Workforce Board. JFS and TSEP are working together to coordinate reach out to businesses. Other entities from Seneca County involved in promoting the survey include the Fostoria Economic Development Corp. and the Seneca Regional Chamber.
This survey will be targeted at industrial employers, including manufacturing, logistics and warehousing. The goal is to survey 250-275 employers in Seneca, Hancock and Wyandot counties. Additionally, Sandusky County Department of Job and Family Services will survey employers in Sandusky, Erie, Huron and Lucas counties, and that data will be shared with this effort.
Thomas P. Miller and Associates of Indianapolis was selected to conduct the survey. TPMA was founded in 1989 and has been completing wage and benefit surveys for the past 15 years in more than 40 states, with clients including small rural towns, state agencies, educational institutions, and publicly traded companies.

Seneca County Board of Commissioners President Mike Kerschner thanked DJFS for their role.
“This is invaluable information for our local companies, not just to understand how they stack up locally, but regionally as well. This is key in our efforts to help to strengthen our workforce,” he said.
