The Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand re-opening of the Fremont Walmart Supercenter with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, May 13. The Walmart Supercenter recently remodeled and made several changes to the store, located at 2052 N. Ohio 53. Some of the renovations to the building include new flooring, fresh signage, updated light fixtures, grab-and-go stations, expanded grocery aisles and a new deli wall, pharmacy, vision center and more.

During the ceremony, store manager Robert Hershey presented several grants from Walmart Giving. Grant recipients included Parkers Purpose, the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce, Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, Mainstreet of Fremont, St. Joseph Catholic Parishes, Easter Seals and Fremont VFW Post 2947 and Auxiliary.

“Walmart relies on the community, and I believe this relationship is mutual,” said Hershey. “We at Fremont Walmart take pride in helping the needed support of this local community.”

Walmart’s ribbon cutting ceremony was streamed live to the Chamber’s Facebook page, facebook.com/sanduskycountychamber, and can still be viewed there.
