Fisher-Titus Home Health has been named a Top Agency of the 2019 HomeCare Elite and received a four-star quality of patient care rating from the Centers for Medicare Services.
“We are pleased to receive these recognitions from HomeCare Elite and the Centers for Medicare Services,” said Dr. Brent Burkey, President & CEO of Fisher-Titus. “These recognitions reflect our commitment to providing patients with exceptional care in their own home.”
This is the sixth time Fisher-Titus Home Health has been named a Top Agency by HomeCare Elite, a recognition of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. This award recognizes Fisher-Titus Home Health is in the top 25% of all home care agencies in the country.
HomeCare Elite agencies are determined by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, best practices implementation, patient experience (HHCAHPS), quality improvement and consistency, and financial health. In order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least three outcomes in Home Health Compare. Out of 8,818 agencies considered, 2,207 are recognized on the 2019 HomeCare Elite winners list overall.
The four-star CMS Quality of Patient Care Star Rating reflects how Fisher-Titus Home Health’s score compare with other agencies on measurements of their quality of patient care performance. A star rating higher than three means that the agency performed better than average on the measured care practices and outcomes.
Home Health Quality of Patient Care Star Ratings are determined using eight measures of quality: Timely Initiation of Care, Improvement in Management of Oral Medications, Improvement in Ambulation, Improvement in Bed Transferring, Improvement in Bathing, Improvement in Pain Interfering with Activity, Improvement in Dyspnea, and Acute Care Hospitalization During the First 60 Days of Home Health.
