First National Bank Announces Scholarship Recipients

BELLEVUE – Dean Miller, president and CEO of First National Bank, is pleased to announce the recipients of the $1,000 First National Bank Scholarships: Malaina Rickel and Maximillian Schneider. Students who have distinguished themselves through outstanding academic achievement and personal excellence were chosen to receive these awards.
The First National Bank Scholarship was established in 2019 for customers of First National Bank. The applicant or the applicant’s parents, legal guardians or grandparents must be an established customer who has had a relationship with FNB for at least 1 year. The $1,000 scholarship is for a graduating senior who attends a school in their local market area and plans to attend a post-secondary accredited school for a 2-year or 4-year degree in the immediate school year following graduation. The eligible high schools located in their market area include Erie, Huron, Ottawa, Sandusky or Seneca counties.

Rickel
Malaina graduated from Bellevue High School and will be attending BGSU Firelands this fall. She is majoring in Inclusive Early Childhood Education. Malaina is busy this summer working at the Bellevue Rec and Jungle Junction. She is the daughter of Nathan and Maggie Rickel of Bellevue.

Schneider
Maximillian graduated from Put-in-Bay High School and plans to attend Miami University where he will be studying Computer Science. This summer, he is working at the Sonny-S Boatline. Max is the son of John and Kathryn Schneider and lives on Middle Bass Island.
First National also handed out the first-ever $1,000 First National Bank Family Scholarships this year to Maria Phillips and Trey Ruhlman.
The First National Bank Family Scholarship is for immediate family members of FNB employees. The $1,000 scholarship is for a graduating senior who attends a school in their local market area and plans to attend a post-secondary accredited school for a 2-year or 4-year degree in the immediate school year following graduation. The eligible high schools located in their market area include Erie, Huron, Ottawa, Sandusky, or Seneca counties.

Phillips
Maria graduated from Seneca East High School and she will be attending BGSU Firelands this fall. Her career goal is to work in the healthcare field. This summer, Maria is working at Choice Lawn Care & Gardens in Republic. She is the daughter of Richard and Barbara Phillips and the late Nancy Phillips. Maria currently resides in Willard.
Maria’s sister is Sarah Shade. Sarah is an Accounting Associate with First National Bank.

Ruhlman
Trey graduated from Bellevue High School and plans to attend Marietta College where he will be majoring in education. Trey is working at Sports Force Park this summer. He is the son of Brad and Jill Ruhlman of Bellevue.
Trey’s sister-in-law is Brittany Ruhlman. Brittany is a Customer Service Representative at the Bellevue Branch.
