FREMONT – First Choice Packaging has announced plans to create at least 9 new jobs and invest approximately $1.6 million into its 1501 W. State Street facility in Fremont.
The company plans to purchase a new automated thermoformer, install a new roof, and make infrastructure improvements to their 290,000 square-foot building to accommodate the new equipment.
“The new thermoformer will add capacity, increase efficiencies and reduce costs by as much as 40% in some instances” said Paul Tomick, Chairman and Owner at FCP. “This will allow us to expand into new markets, particularly the food and possibly medical markets with some additional investment” Tomick added.
Established in 1985, First Choice Packaging is a custom packaging solutions manufacturer that provides complete custom thermoform packaging. It serves a variety of customers in consumer, commercial and industrial packaging applications including food, pharma, medical, transportation and more.
“Operating in Sandusky County and Fremont provides FCP with access to over 50% of the US market within 48 hours allowing us to serve our customers with shorter lead times and therefore making us more competitive” Tomick said.
“I want to thank First Choice Packaging for its commitment to Fremont and express how excited I am for their growth in our community” stated City of Fremont Mayor Danny Sanchez. “I know Bob Gross, Economic Development Director for the City of Fremont and Beth Hannam, Executive Director of Sandusky County Economic Development Corporation put in a lot of time and effort working with local manufacturers helping them to meet their needs. Any time local companies make an investment that creates new jobs it is a good for the community.”
Hannam echoed the Mayor, adding “The Sandusky County Economic Development Corporation is pleased to see First Choice Packaging grow and invest in Sandusky County and wish them nothing but success in their operations in Fremont.”
