Firelands Regional Medical Center CFO recognized by Becker’s Healthcare

SANDUSKY – Recently, Firelands Regional Medical Center’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Dan Moncher, was recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as one of the “100 hospital health system CFOs to know”. Becker’s Healthcare is the go-to source for healthcare decision-makers providing information and forums they need to learn, exchange ideas and further conversations about the most critical issues in American healthcare.

The individuals featured on the 2019 list lead financial departments for large health systems as well as small community hospitals. Many play an integral role in their organization’s strategic planning, growth and transactions; they have also been recognized by their peers and serve on the board of directors for community organizations.

Moncher joined the Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1997. Prior to joining Firelands, Moncher served as regional vice president and chief financial officer for Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio, and Mercy Hospital in Willard, Ohio. He has 30 years of healthcare experience. His responsibilities include all aspects of financial, capital, investment and debt management; interest rate risk management; financial strategic planning and analysis; operating and capital budgeting; revenue cycle; business analysis; medical records; patient billing/cashiers; insurance claims management; managed care contracting; graduate medical education; physician hospital organization; The Foundation for Firelands; and outpatient behavioral health. In addition, he is responsible for banking, investment, auditor, insurance, joint venture, and actuarial relationships. He is very active locally, serving on many community and not-for-profit boards and finance committees. Moncher is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, a certified public accountant (inactive) and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business – accountancy from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and a master of business administration degree from Tiffin University, Tiffin.
