Expansion project brings jobs and investment to Fremont

Submitted by SCEDC

FREMONT – A business development project in Fremont will bring 25 new jobs and $1.85 to $2.4 million in capital investment.

ABC Inoac has announced an expansion project and will be adding 28,000 square feet to its facility which will create 25 new full time positions and retain 441 existing full-time jobs and six existing part time jobs over the next 10 years. The company is an automotive manufacturer of Class A exterior systems. The added annual payroll is estimated to be $1,000,000.

“The support from the SCEDC and County Commissioners for our expansion project has been outstanding,” said Bruce Boyce, plant manager. “The expansion is one of many pieces that must come together to successfully launch a major OE automotive spoiler project. I want to thank our employees for their contribution as well. What makes the new spoiler project possible is the day to day dedication and hard work our team is known for. Fremont and Sandusky County is a great base of operations for us and the support in the form of incentives will help us maintain our competitive advantage for years to come.”

ABC Inoac worked closely with the Sandusky County Economic Development Corporation in moving this project forward. On April 5, the Sandusky County Commissioners passed a resolution for the Enterprise Zone incentive at 75 percent for 10 years.

Sandusky County Commissioner Charles Schwochow stated that “the County Commissioners are glad to work with and welcome the ABC Inoac expansion project in our County. When a company has the drive and willingness to grow, it brings more jobs and enthusiasm to our community.”

The purpose of the Enterprise Zone is to foster economic and community development by utilizing real and personal property tax abatement incentives. The creation of the enterprise zone is intended as means of creating new jobs, as well as, retaining existing employment.

Beth Hannam, executive director of the Sandusky County Economic Development Corp., is pleased to see the continued growth and success of ABC Inoac.

“We are grateful for the collaboration amongst the company and Sandusky Township on this project,” she said. “Their investment of expanding operations at 1410 Motor Ave in our county and the City of Fremont/ Sandusky Township is yet another sign that the county has a strong manufacturing base which continues to grow. We wish ABC Inoac continued success and look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
