Erie Community Federal Credit Union appoints new CEO

The board of directors of Erie Community Federal Credit Union has recently named John Reineke Sr. as the new CEO. He replaces Gerri Schaefer, who served the credit union for 26 years and retired at the end of 2021.
Reineke has been the chief financial officer at the credit union since March 2019. Prior to that, he held positions with Hewlett Packard and Siemen’s Energy as well as other financial institutions. He has experience as a financial analyst, auditor, and assistant treasurer. He also taught business classes as an adjunct professor of cinance at Cleary University in Michigan.
Reineke’s main responsibility will be to work in tandem with the board of directors to move the credit union forward, by expanding the presence in the community as well as developing new products and services for the credit union membership.
“I’m very excited about this new role; my goal is to build long-term financial health for our members, while increasing loyalty and member satisfaction,” John said.
