“I am sad to report that Jill Simpson has submitted her resignation as CEO & President of the Chamber of Commerce. She has decided to take a job with the State of Ohio. It was a very difficult decision for Jill but of course we wish her the best in her future endeavors,” said Michelle Gill, Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Simpson, who is a Fremont resident and has served as the Chamber CEO & President of the Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky County since November of 2016, resigned to accept a position as a Business Relations Specialist with the Ohio Department of Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. Simpson’s last day will be Aug. 30. The Executive Committee of the board has already begun the search for Simpson’s replacement.
“It has been a privilege to lead this organization over the past several years, working with such an engaged board and collaborative group of businesses and community organizations, and I feel confident that I am leaving the Chamber in a great position for the next CEO. We are fiscally strong, membership is up, retention rates are well above average, and we have several exciting new projects in the works,” Simpson said. “We also have a talented team of employees eager to keep both the momentum and operations moving forward.”
Interested candidates for the position can send their resumes and cover letter with salary requirements to the Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky County, 215 Croghan St., Fremont, OH 43420.
