Fremont native John Blakeman will present a program for farmers: Solving the HABs Problem in Lake Erie. In this narrated digital slide show, he will give the details of the University of Akron Research Foundation’s research project in Northwest Ohio, where his team of experts will plant and assess three new vegetation types to keep phosphorus in farm fields, and out of ditches and Lake Erie. For information and to register, visit scchamber.org.

The Chamber is seeking nominations of educators who have exemplified vision, leadership and commitment to the improvement of education in our community. Students should nominate a teacher that has inspired them to be the best they can be. Parents should nominate teachers that have challenged and helped their son or daughter to achieve what they thought was impossible. Teachers may nominate a co-worker who goes above and beyond for their students. Nomination forms must be post marked by July 5 and are available online at tiffinchamber.com.
