TIFFIN – The Architectural Board of Review recently approved a Façade Enhancement Grant for work to 70 S. Washington St., Simply Susan’s. This work closes out the available façade program funds for the year.

At the meeting, the ABR approved a $6,376.05 Downtown Façade Enhancement Grant to replace the door and window on the storefront of the building and restore the balcony on the second floor, for a total investment of $17,218.96.

Susan Wilkinson, owner of Simply Susan’s, said: “I’m very appreciative that this program exists for business owners in the downtown.”

The City of Tiffin set aside $100,000 for the program, which has now been completely spent for 2019, resulting in a total investment of $239,764.85. The ABR previously approved grants for the owners of 13 buildings in Downtown Tiffin.

“I again am pleased to see our downtown business owners take advantage of this program, and thank them and Tiffin City Council for making this program a success,” said Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz.

Since the program’s inception in 2014, 70 projects have been approved for a total downtown investment of more than $2.4 million.
